Life is weird. Is there something wrong with me? I seem to encounter weird people and weird happenings in my everyday life. Weird , or perhaps i’m too sensitive, tend to think alot. Still, I do hope everyday is a better day (:

tell me what i should do, when i’m unhappy. Tell me What Should i do , when i’m happy. I am somehow getting mixed up in expressing these emotions and feelings i have inside me.

I officially declare that my skin cannot live under sunny conditions and airconditioned rooms without water or moisturizer. I’ve been sub consciously scractching my arms even when i’m sleeping, like theres no stop to it. Although it feels like it gets itchier everytime i scratch, theres always an uprising temptation to scratch even more. And I see flakes of skin fibres dropping off, which i’m sure it’ll totally disgust people around me. I know its a turn off talking about this , but just an advice to all out there, Make sure You People take care of Your Skin! & i do hope my skin condition is not permanent , although the difference in colour tone is seemingly clear.

On side notes, Qizhi left For Japan, Andrew is Back From India. I must say it is kinda weird not having both of their presence during training and outside. Not in Gay terms ! but they definitely spice up the training atmosphere alot.

I missed the morning training yesterday because of my driving lessons and to add on to that, i had a neck that is strained from the wrong way of sleeping position . Got back one of my instructor whose a malay. He’s patient in teaching and i’ve completed my 1st 2 subjects of Stage 3 under his guidance & My Driving Simulator Lesson. Just 9 More Practicals to go and I can Wait for My TP Date without having to complete the whole process before 13th Nov.

In the afternoon, Headed down to Beach Road to Join my classmates for lunch at beach road. Back to savour the heavenly and addictive chicken rice there which i havent had in months. It definitely made me think back when we were year 1 juniors , training in kallang, going to beach road in our wet clothes and ordering huge portions of food , not forgetting deserts like ah-boh-ling , and Grass Jelly. My Classmates and I didnt meetup since the exams ended, and its exactly a month when we come together today. After lunch, we walked to Textile centre for bowling sessions. My Dear Friend Hongyi claimed that there is a bowling centre there. With Hendri’s Enthusiasm and Addiction in bowling which was developed since i brought them to CDANS to bowl, he urged us to go bowl too. When We reached, we were dismayed that when we were told that the whole place was already relocated, replaced by a tour agency. Then, We went over to the bowling alley at Marina Square. Of the five of us, Me, Hendri, Hongyi, Yixiang and Yuxiang, Hendri and Yuxiang were the best bowlers of the 3 games we played. Yuxiang even got turkey ( Triple Strike) . Intially , we Wanted to catch a movie but the whole cinema was closed. After which, we shopped at MS. Got myself a Lime Green Shirt from Slurping Ape ! Hendri was trying out caps and Yixiang wanted to get singlets. Headed over to the QuikSilver Shop there, and there are shirts and a particular wallet that i could not take my eyes off it ! Well, Looks like i’m gonna head down someday to get it when i have the $$. Headed home at 7 when Hongyi needs to go home for family dinner, and i had my share of Andersen Icecream before going back!

Saturday- TIME TRIAL

it was Supposed to be a K2 Team Event Time Trial, unfortunately Gabriel had dirreheoa and there’s only Merv’s K2. So it was changed to K1 instead. Everyone Participated in it. 2 sets of 500m. I’m Glad that There’s an Improvement in timing for both of my sets, So Have I realised that, “its not how fast you get or you are, but the hard work and effort  that you put in everyday training that brings about such results “

Its just 2 More weeks of such training before school starts and we cant row so many sessions like now , which is a sad sad thing. ): YESYES , and I wont forget to mention about paddling K4 today, which i find great. Balance was much better, although there are sudden tilts of the boat, and the boat kept going to the left strangely, we’ve got a timing to start with, 1min44sec, with each of our individual training on k1 and when we are on the k4, i’m sure we’ll get faster and better in coordination with our combined efforts in time to come!

Work at OktoberFest at Swiss Club was a Blast!

Not because of the quite easy job there but the people i’m working with!

The Whole Clique of SPCT people including the alumnis just crowded one area of the tentage.

After dinner which was some Weird tasting vegetables , and Fish Nuggets with rice, we had to stand at our tables, ready to start work. The food was not so bad as mentioned by Fuyong and Timo about the jail-like food and mashed rice consumed for the past 2 days. Perhaps i was lucky on the last day . HA!

At around 7pm, the crowd of ‘ Ang Mohs’ started to stream in, most of them Germans. My job there was to take orders, clear plates and mugs and serve the beer. At almost 8pm. the whole tentage was filled with people , tossing and cheering away with friends not forgetting the mouth watering buffet spread that comprised of pork knucles, Chicken Drumstick, Mashed Potatoes. And the deserts were just enticing . Damn , I just couldnt help looking at the food with my stomach growling and almost salivating. The Whole Fun starts to rock and drinking atmosphere kick in when the band starts to play songs like YMCA , Hey Baby etc. People getting drunk, standing on the table and jumping on the benches wildly like they were going to fall anytime. Some even went out of hand , stomping hard on the tables when the glass mugs were placed on it. Not forgetting the favourite song which the band claimed that sounded like ‘ I’m A Pussy’ that most of us agreed during the intervals of songs and it was played like almost 20 times.

Throughout the night, i was busy helping to clear plates and taking orders. Of course, hoping not to get fried before 10pm which the old auntie supervisors always does. Squeezing through the dancing crowd, inhaling 2nd smoke from cigars was just Yuck.

All in All, we knocked off at 12pm , receiving a pay of 76 bucks that comprised of 12 bucks of taxi fare. All of us then headed to Macdonalds at King Albert Park. Had my late supper of McChicken and Double Cheeseburger. Gobbled it up like someone who have not eaten for a few days. On side notes, thanks daddy for staying up late into the night and driving over to pick me up ! Guanlin and Aaron saved the money on cabfare. On the other hand, i must thank Junhui for lending me the black pants and shoes that fitted so nicely. (:

Guess what, I’m sure its not surprising the menu i saw at the OKTOBERFEST was like this.

a 0.5L Erdinger Beer costed like $13.50

A small Plastic cup of Orange or Lime Juice From Syrup Bottles costed like $4.50 , so does a Can of Coca Cola.

A bottle of Sparking Mineral Water costed $4.50 too. and that is only 500ml.

The Entrance Fee+ Buffet Spread costed like 60 bucks?

Just Insanity. The Boss must have earned quite a sum from this.

The Angmohs wasnt bothered by the price , instead they just kept going for the 2nd serving , 3rd, and even 4th. I dont know

And Whats worse , the event hat itself costed 18 bucks. Which we got it for free at the end of the event.

Oh yes, And for like almost 2 hours 10-12pm , i didnt see Willy at all ! And when we all knocked off , gathered at the Squash Court to collect our bags and Pay, he’s missing. To think, he was sleeping in the toilet ! HAHAHA !

Well, Training today wasnt too bad. Tennis Ball Resistance Training !

After 2 days of not paddling, I’m once again back on the PeiSheng , Paddling Hard !

The Nelos are here. Vanquish II ! One weighing only 8kg and the other 10kg. It is definitely just uber lightweight. Gabriel and I thought we were carrying a piece of paper when we headed down from the shed to Paddle Lodge to fix the Rudders.

2 words to describe the two boats we’ve been awaiting for , ” Sexy Bitches ”

Its been 3 weeks of having doing the same routine time and time again. Its nothing more than sleep, paddle and attending my driving lessons. ALAS, I’m coming to the end of stage 2. And I’m looking forward to doing the Driving Simulator at the end of the stage. I do notice myself coming across Less Engine Stalls, and of course,  More Confidence on the wheel. I’ve spoke to dad about my plans after passing my Prac Test which is in November, Hopefully for the first time. And amazingly , he agreed to let me drive his gigantic MPV, of course with him seated beside me for the first few driving sessions. Lately, i’ve been dreaming of driving the family out for dinner, so that dad can take a rest from the wheel and his aching shoulders and body from the workload. In Months to come, Its going to be Reality ! Oh yes, And looks like I’ve got to chip in for the petrol bills , ERP charges and Carpark Fees. :/

On side notes, I know i’m not blogging that often nowadays. Nevertheless, my posts are always mundane and boring. Nothing else other than training. Its been long since i hit the cinema with the team & i definitely look forward to 1 since there are plenty of action-packed movies on show now, eg BABYLON A.D, BANGKOK DANGEROUS etc. Supposingly wanted to catch Death Race, But in the end, i could find no one to catch it with me . Oh Well.

I’m still unsure of what events to take part in for the IVP. I do have some keen interest in the K1 1000m. But of course, K2 with Gabriel is still my niche. Do Look Forward to be back on a K2 and shaving off seconds from our NCC timings which wasnt very good but still, we put in our best !

Sprint IVP pushed back to either the 1st or 2nd week of NOV. Is it good or bad? I wonder.

K4 K4 K4, i definitely hope there is a K4 event for IVP.

Kudos to the Year 3 Polo Seniors for winning the 6th IVP champs. You guys made it ! (:

On a lighter note, I’ve been taking a few on and off breaks during the week for training. A few more weeks left to go. Gear Up Team !  A Crucial Period for now, Take care and drink plenty of water ! Its the monsoon season now and we definitely cant afford to fall sick.

I hope for more gatherings whereby the team can come together like this. Oh yes, BTW , Shane When Are You Coming back !?

No Way I’m Getting lazy over these.

1st Week of the SeptemberHoliday down. Its Inevitable when my body tells me to rest after every training. Rest is not enough , still. My Calves are hurting from the runs after sprinting training, my back is hurting from the 140 pullups we do everyday without fail & my joints are kinda creaky again after the Relay Race on Thursday. 1.2, 8 , 4. I do wonder whats the plan we’re going to carry out this thursday.

Harder , Better , Faster , Stronger. I look forward to the 1km time trials This Saturday. & definitely, i cannot be so “nua” again.

Canoe Sprinting, Not just about strength but more of technique. I’ve yet to acquire that I must say.

The Semestral Exams have taken its toll on me.

A total of 5 papers spreaded all over the 2 weeks, day and night studying, going to my classmate’s house to study till late into the night and not forgetting the sleepless and worrying nights i’ve had.

Its all Over now. Something to be Happy about. One and A Half Month Holidays Have knocked on my door, ALAS.

I’ve had my schedules for the holiday planned out ! Its gonna be occupied with driving lessons, A trip to Genting with my classmates , work at OKTOBER Fest, Dental Appointments and Not forgetting my long missed trainings.

The Feeling during the study period was just Un-Trained. No running, No Gym, Little Paddling only on the weekends is definitely something i couldnt get used to.

For now, I’m Back. Dedicated and Committed ! (:

Canoe Sprint IVP Race 2008 , I’m gonna be up for it !!! (:

SPCT Did well, But We got disaqualified. It Shall be A Lesson learnt for us, and a Mistake not to be committed again.

All 10 of us ran our asses off  to Our best and as fast as Our Legs Could Carry us , Yanli was the First Girl to Start the Race and lead the Pack of Other Girl Runners, Joanne Took the Lead in Exchanging the Lapcard & I was the First Guy who Sprinted off To Start on the Second Lap with The First Blue Card In My Hand. However, The Placing was not well Kept. Soon enough,  we lost the top 2 Position to Sports Club & Track&Field. It Was a Good Relay Run, Strong Sprinters and Opponents vying for the First Few Places. It was indeed A Run worth Remembereing , Learning and Acquiring the Experience from.

Every Single one of Us , We’ll Not Cry Over Split Milk, We’ll Continue Training Hard, and together As Singapore Polytechnic Canoeing Team, We Forge Forward to Poly50 2009, something to look forward to next year . A Job Exceptionally Well Done Poly50 Runners!  Andrew, Junhui, Weichen , Michael, Gao Xiang , Pat, Yanli & Joanne .

 We got 3rd, Something worth to Be Proud Of. Even though we couldnt get a chance to stand on the Podium & Even though SPCT’s Glory wasnt announced to everyone ,  

We Are Already Champions ourselves. 

The Profuse Pespiration Under the Scorching Hot sun that drained our energy , The Endless Gasps Of Breath, Every Single Sweat and Ounce of Energy We Gave out Was All Worth the while .

AMAZING! Guess what, I spent Only 2 Bucks for Lunch Today ! Just 2 Bucks For A double CheeseBurger at FC 2. I couldnt Believe I could Hold My Hunger so well for today. Wait, Did I just Mentioned Double CheeeseeeeBurgerrr From Macdonalds?

In the afternoon, i took the Free NUH shuttle Bus from Dover MRT to NUH for My Orthodontist Appointment. Records down, Photos taken , Xrays done. I’ll Be looking forward to the 3rd Visit this Sept as I’ll Be putting on those Metal Brackets. Gees, I hope it doesnt affect my Training for IVP for long. I Must eat as much good food as i Can this month, as next month will be more of a Porridge Month? :/

Right. GEMS Project Presentation today went smoothly, I guess We did well  Credits to Gabriel for Doing The Stiches for the Panorama , Willy for The Placing them into QuickTime Player and Me , For the PPT Slides and Conclusion. Lets See, This Is Whats Left to Complete. CheckList UP !

I Had A Bad Experience going into the Lab , and Sat there like an Idiot, Blurred By the Sight of Wires & the use of the Ocsilloscope. Once Next week is Over, It will Be A Big Load off My Mind !
